I stumbled across the wild wild web to find how to get my email alerts on my mobile, and the search was worth my  time. I finally landed to WAY2SMS.COM which allowed me to send free sms all over India and even get email alerts on my mobile for free !!

Way2sms is a sms gateway provider which allows to send free sms across India,the sms are of 140 characters and consists of a 20 character advertisement through which the website covers its costs. Way2sms allows for seamless integration of Gmail, Yahoo accounts and you can chat from right at that site with your friends.

First register at www.way2sms.com and login into the site.

Now click on Mail tab and create a new way2sms email ID.

 After you have created it, login into your Gmail account/Yahoo account..

Gmail Users
All you have to do is Just link your Gmail account with your Way2SMS account. Here is the way -

• Logon to your Gmail account
• click on settings & then click on ‘FORWARDING/POP/IMAP’ option
• Select “ Forward a copy of incoming mail to “ option & Enter your Way2SMS Email ID there which you just created 

• Click On Save
• Finished. You will now receive alerts for every incoming mail that arrives in your Gmail id. :)

Yahoo Users
You only have to link your yahoo.co.in account with your Way2sms account,here is how you can do that -

• Logon to your Yahoo mail account
• click on Options  & then click on “Mail Options”
• Select “ POP&Forwarding “ option & then Click on 'Setup or Edit POP & Forwarding' link.
• Choose ' Forwarding ' option & Enter your Way2SMS Mail ID 

• Click On Save. You will now receive alerts for every incoming mail that arrives in your YAHOO.CO.IN Account. 

I have been enjoying this service and just want to say that its awesome. You can send sms,create groups,send group sms, get email alerts on your mobile on the go..what else do you want? Why wait,just go ahead and get going ..

We are using Google as in past like me many of us never dis-clause our identity to people except our friends. But now with Google profile we can come up to the world. Yes Google profile are listed and featured on Google Search.When you or others search for your name on Google, a link to your Google profile may appear at the bottom of the search results next to your profile picture.

Don't have a profile? Go to www.google.com/profiles to get started.

If you want people to be able to contact you, but don't want to reveal your email address to the world, you can hide your user name and use a 24 digit number instead. Turn on the 'Send a message' feature, and anyone with a Google Account can send you a message through your profile, without having your email address revealed to them.

Track Invisble Users on GTalk

Tracing GTalk users is rather easy,you only have to use the following method -

1. Login to Gtalk using your Google id.
2. Go to IM(Instant Messanger) window of user you want to trace for invisible.
3. You will see a drop-down list on right top side,click on it.
4. Click on "go off the record" .
5. Now give any message.
6. If the "xyz@gmail.com is offline and can't receive messages right now" message appears in red color it means your friend is really offline.
7. If no message comes means your friend is online and invisible for all.

How to Install WMP 11 on XP without Validating Windows

As we all know Microsoft have Released WMP 11 long ago, but still there are many users who are    not able to install WMP 11 on their system because while installing WMP 11 on their system, their Windows didn’t pass from Successful validation.

But here is a good news for you, now you can also enjoy WMP 11 in your XP. I have a trick, to Install WMP 11 on XP without Validating the Windows. Just follow the Steps below to Install WMP 11 on XP:

• Download Windows Media Player 11 from here (x86 Bit).
•  After that you need to open the downloaded exe file with WinRaR.
•  Extract All contents from it.

• After Extraction of WMP 11 exe you will get many files. You have to use only 6 Files of them (shown in image below). Just install those Files marked in Image as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

 

• After Installing, Just Restart Your OS.
• Now Open WMP!!

That’s It. Now you can enjoy Windows Media player 11 in XP.  Have Fun.. :)

Google to release Google Chrome OS in 2010

It’s been an exciting nine months since we launched the Google Chrome browser. Today, we’re announcing a new project that’s a natural extension of Google Chrome — the Google Chrome Operating System. It’s our attempt to re-think what operating systems should be.

Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at notebooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010.
Speed, simplicity and security are the key aspects of Google Chrome OS. We’re designing the OS to be fast and lightweight, to start up and get you onto the web in a few seconds. The user interface is minimal to stay out of your way, and most of the user experience takes place on the web. And as we did for the Google Chrome browser, we are going back to the basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don’t have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates. It should just work.

Google Chrome OS will run on both x86 as well as ARM chips and we are working with multiple OEMs to bring a number of netbooks to market next year. The software architecture is simple — Google Chrome running within a new windowing system on top of a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform. All web-based applications will automatically work and new applications can be written using your favorite web technologies. And of course, these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

Hide Your Files In A JPEG

Well, did you know you could hide your files in a JPEG file? For this, you will only need to download WinRAR. You just need to have a little knowledge about Command Prompt and have WinRAR installed.
Ok, lets begin…

1. Gather all the files that you wish to hide in a folder anywhere in your PC (make it in C:\hidden - RECOMMENDED).
2. Now, add those files in a RAR archive (e.g. secret.rar). This file should also be in the same directory (C:\hidden).
3. Now, look for a simple JPEG picture file (e.g. logo.jpg). Copy/Paste that file also in C:\hidden.
4. Now, open Command Prompt (Go to Run and type ‘cmd‘). Make your working directory C:\hidden.
5. Now type: “COPY /b logo.jpg + secret.rar output.jpg” (without quotes) - Now, logo.jpg is the picture you want to show, secret.rar is the file to be hidden, and output.jpg is the file which contains both. :D
6. Now, after you have done this, you will see a file output.jpg in C:\hidden. Open it (double-click) and it will show the picture you wanted to show. Now try opening the same file with WinRAR, it will show the hidden archive...

This hack will allow you to hide files in jpegs's without software installed.

Task Manager Disabled – Fix it !

Many times when working on a computer that has been infected with a virus, Trojan , or piece of spyware I find myself with the task manager being disabled. Its the first priority of Malware creators to disable access to Task manager so that the user is not able to end the process of the running Malware.Until or unless you are working in an office,there is seldom any restriction placed over Task manager by home users.So, I will be mentioning 5 methods to re-enable task manager and restore it to former glory.To open the Task Manager, you normally would do one of the following:

• Press CTRL-ALT-DEL on the keyboard.
• Press CTRL-SHIFT-ESC on the keyboard.
• Right-click on a blank area on the start bar and choose Task Manager.
• Click on Start, Run and type TASKMGR in the run box and press Enter .

And if instead of opening of Task manager you see the screen given below,then you need to re-enable the task manager.
First we’ll begin with the various registry modification methods for correcting this problem.
Method 1

• Using the Group Policy Editor in Windows XP Professional .
• Click Start, Run, type gpedit.msc and click OK.
• Under User Configuration, Click on the plus (+) next to Administrative Templates.
• Click on the plus (+) next System, then click on Ctrl+Alt+Delete Options.
• Find Remove Task Manager in the right-hand pane and double click on it.
• Choose the option “Not Configured” and click Ok.
• Close the Group Policy Window .

Method 2

• Change the Task Manager Option through the Run line .
• Click on Start, Run and type the following command exactly and press Enter.

REG add
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
It will restore your task manager and resolve your problem.

• *#62209526# - Display the MAC address of the WLAN adapter. This is available only in the newer devices that support WLAN
• #pw+1234567890+1# Shows if sim have restrictions.

*#92702689# -  takes you to a secret menu where you may find some of the information below:

1. Displays Serial Number.
2. Displays the Month and Year of Manufacture
3. Displays (if there) the date where the phone was purchased (MMYY)
4. Displays the date of the last repair - if found (0000)
5. Shows life timer of phone (time passes since last start)*#3370# - Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR) activation. Increase signal strength, better signal reception. It also help if u want to use GPRS and the service is not responding or too slow. Phone battery will drain faster though.

*#3370* - (EFR) deactivation. Phone will automatically restart. Increase battery life by 30% because phone receives less signal from network.
*#4720# - Half Rate Codec activation.
*#4720* - Half Rate Codec deactivation. The phone will automatically restart

Unlock service provider: Insert sim, turn phone on and press vol up(arrow keys) for 3 seconds, should say pin code. Press C,then press * message should flash, press * again and 04*pin*pin*pin#

*#7328748263373738# resets security code.
Default security code is 12345

Recover Gmail Password using SMS

First of all..I would like to say that Gmail is out of Beta..yep..After a long time when they have integrated the best of world in their email system, it was the right time to rip off the tag,and they did it.Further,with the world going mobile,they took some of the steps to better enhance the security even a notch above than other email services. It helps to know that even the best of us forget our passwords from time to time and In fact,the sheer amount of people visit Gmail help center everyday just to recover their passwords. To help with these situations, Google went a step ahead by adding the ability to recover your password via text message.


In order to access this feature,sign in to your account and select ' Change Password Recovery
Options ' enter your cell phone number and click ' Save ' The Next time you forget your password, enter your username on the password-assistance page, and Google will text you a recovery code. No need to check another email account or even leave the page. In general, it's a good idea to add as many password recovery options to your Google Account as possible, like a secondary email address and security question. And don't forget to keep them up-to-date. Afterall,we all make mistakes :P

How to Completely remove Advertisements from Orkut.

You must have noticed orkut displaying ads on profiles and orkut communities. If you hate those ads (though i would see them as the only revenue generating option Google has when Orkut comes into the radar), you can completely disable those advertisements using a small greasemonkey script we have created.
